In his role as Senior Advisor, Dr. Chiurco provides counsel on business development, pipeline expansion, and investor relations.
Dr. Chiurco led a distinguished 40-year career in neurosurgery and has a successful track record as an angel investor. Dr. Chiurco has served in leadership roles in numerous hospital networks, including Chair of Neurosurgery at University Medical Center of Princeton for over 30 years, and Chairman of Surgery Capital Health Systems, Trenton, NJ. He has a long association with Thomas Jefferson University, currently serving on the Advisory Board and also as a Member of the President’s Leadership Council of Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health, an 18-hospital system and the largest in the Delaware Valley. He serves as the current Chair, Neuroscience Committee of the Farber Institute of Neuroscience at Thomas Jefferson University and Sidney Kimmel medical College.
Dr. Chiurco earned a B.S. from St. Joseph’s University and his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College (now Sidney Kimmel Medical College). After completing internship at The Pennsylvania Hospital and residency in neurosurgery at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, he was a research fellow at The University of Pennsylvania prior to entering the private practice of neurosurgery.
Dr. Chiurco is a two-time world champion in the International 12 Metre Class in sailing.
