Dr. Kevin Kaplan brings two decades of elite sports-medicine experience to his post as Chief Medical Officer at Orcosa Inc., where he directs clinical development and regulatory strategy for the company’s novel drug delivery platform. He crafts trial designs, leads FDA interactions, and oversees medical affairs to ensure each program meets the highest standards of safety, efficacy, and scientific rigor.
Dr. Kaplan has served 16 seasons as a physician for the Jacksonville Jaguars including the last 12 years as Head Team Physician, managing player health from injury prevention to surgical care. He is also a leader in the Jacksonville sports community, taking care of high school, collegiate, and professional athletes from numerous teams in the Southeast who request his expertise.
Dr. Kaplan graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in cell and molecular biology and was distinguished as Summa Cum Laude with Honors, Phi Beta Kappa, and a member of numerous National Honors Societies. He attended New York University School of Medicine where he graduated as a Doctor of Medicine and was distinguished in the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He completed his orthopaedic residency at NYU Langone – serving as Executive Chief Resident, contributing to over 20 peer-reviewed publications and winning multiple research awards, followed by a sports medicine fellowship at the renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic, where he assisted the 2009 World Champion L.A. Lakers and other professional teams.
Dr. Kaplan is a board certified surgeon with a subspecialty designation in sports medicine and is a fellow of both the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
